As you can see, we have quite a few events being planned. We encourage everyone to attend any they may be interested, and of course to suggest ideas for new events. Please check back periodically: updates such as time and places will be listed here.
Ohio Linux Fest 2008
Ubuntu Ohio is currently in the active planning stages for a booth at Ohio Linux Fest this year, set to be held on October 11th. If you would like to participate in the planning, please attend upcoming meetings since it will be discussed thoroughly over the next few months. As usual, the meeting will take place on IRC on #ubuntu-us-oh.
Bug Jam
Want to help contribute to the quality of Ubuntu? Dont know where to start? Attend Ubuntu Ohio's upcoming Bug Jam to learn how to report, triage, and fix bugs. Everyone of every skill level is welcome to the bug jam. Programming is not required for many of the activities, such as reporting and triaging. If you would like more information or would like to help plan the event, please attend any upcoming meetings.
Ubuntu Intrepid Ibex Release Party
We will be organizing release parties around the state of Ohio for users of Ubuntu to get together and install the new version of Ubuntu, as well as discuss Ubuntu and have friendly get togethers to meet other users of Ubuntu.
Ohio Ubucon '09
Ubuntu Ohio is planning to hold our own conference dedicated to Ubuntu and it's community in 2009. This event is still in it's very early planning stages, and we are currently looking for a location and a date to hold the event. One of our first events was the Ubuntu 7.04 Feisty Fawn release party.
Our second event we participated in was Ohio Linux Fest 2007 at which we had a booth.
When Ubuntu 7.10 Gutsy Gibbon came out in October 2007 we decided to have another release party. Our latest release parties were in Columbus and Lima for the release of Ubuntu 8.04 Hardy Heron.
