From the south shores of Lake Erie in Ashtabula, this is the Burning Circle. For release on Monday, October 21st, this is episode 136.

First up, I have issued a call for setting a meeting date. There is a Doodle poll for that. Due to the gravity of the issues being raised, quorum for the meeting is set at five members. Yes, that is five members of the community beyond myself. We have important things to talk about and people need to show up.

During the meeting we have a verification application to review. I have prepared a draft application to be laid before the LoCo Council for consideration. Please note that I cannot vote on it in the LoCo Council context as I will have to present it. This application is available on the community's page on the wiki and I have previously sent an e-mail bearing a link to it.

Noted in the application is the small matter that we have no plans. We truly don't. When I took over in April I only set plans through September. We are now in the second half of October and need to talk about goals and planning for the future. That will also take place at the meeting.

Again, a quorum is five members beyond myself attending. The meeting will take place in our IRC channel. The drop dead point for indicating your meeting date preference is 11:59 PM on Tuesday. Please remember that this was first announced via e-mail last week on Thursday. Once we have a date set I can then begin populating the appropriate form on the LoCo Portal.

Saucy Salamander is out. This is a case where rigid adherence to timetable and a focus on the phone may have led to issues erupting elsewhere. Bear in mind that if you are looking for a stable experience, stay with the Long Term Support release. Launchpad Bug #1208204 is giving Xubuntu quite a bit of grief at the moment with resolution still off in the distance, for example.

There seem to be some sort of row erupting between Mark Shuttleworth and others. We can safely dispense with that and move on. It isn't exactly relevant to our social community.

In the week ahead I look forward to fixing the date and time of our upcoming meeting. If you have time, please take a look at our verification application and edit it if you feel so moved. The LoCo Council pages on the wiki explain the sorts of things that should be discussed in such applications.

With all that being said, thank you for joining us. This program has been brought to you by Erie Looking Productions. Until next time, we'll be seeing you...
